Following the success of EMAT’s annual eye camps, the charity committed to building a permanent eye hospital to provide consistent, year-round care. Construction began in 2007, and the hospital’s shell was completed by late 2009 at a cost of £100,000. Located in Liaquatpur, the facility marked a major step in EMAT’s long-term impact. The final fit-out was planned for 2011, dependent on raising the remaining funds. The hospital now provides EMAT with rental income that can support future charitable work.
