Hearing Aids for Deaf Children

Overview

For children diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss, a hearing aid can be life-changing — but in Pakistan, these devices are simply out of reach for many families. A single high-quality, fitted hearing aid can cost up to £500, a cost far beyond what most can afford.

EMAT, in partnership with APPS UK Foundation, is working to provide hearing aids to children who have been professionally assessed and identified as needing long-term hearing support.

Why It Matters

Children who cannot hear often cannot speak, learn, or socialise. With no access to hearing aids, they risk a lifetime of isolation and dependence. A hearing aid enables them to understand their surroundings, communicate, and reach their full potential in school and life.
